Dr. Sigrid Gjøtterud works as associate professor at Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Section for Learning and Teacher Education. In her PhD-project she worked with a group of teacher educators researching their own practice together. The project was influenced by Living Theory as well as Co-operative action research. Her main interest is developing teacher education practice and living educational theory research as she guides student teachers, as well as teachers, researching to improve their own educational practices.
Sigrid is also engaged in educational action research in African contexts where she is supporting community development through projects linking school-learning with community needs and interests, and the development of action research communities. Education for sustainable development is an over-arching goal for her research.
