Frequently Asked Questions
- How did EJOLTs start?
Educational Journal of Living Theories (EJOLTs) arose arose from a conversation between Branko Bognar and Jack Whitehead in 2006. Over the following two years, Branko and Jack developed cooperative democratic strategies for bringing EJOLTs into existence as an international peer-reviewed journal. Branko played a key role in establishing EJOLTs: he gained the support of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek in Croatia as an anchor institution for our global context, and he dealt with the technical issues of setting up an online journal. Others gathered around the developing project and the first issue was published in 2008, as a distinct contribution to the progression of values-led theory and practice around the world and opening new avenues for making public valid, values-laden knowledge, which contributes to bringing into being a more humane world where Humanity can flourish as a benign presence.
